The
Late Dato' Teo Hang Sam came to our shores
in the late 1920s having left Swatow in
China to fulfill his dreams of establishing
a "warehouse full of wealth across
the four seas". He founded See Hoy
Chan in the pre-war year of 1938 with
the establishment of a sundry store in
Kuala Lumpur. In September 1952, the sole
proprietary business was incorporated
into a private limited |

company to what is known today as See Hoy
Chan Sdn, Berhad. From the humble beginnings
of a sundry store, Dato' Teo ventured into
rice trading and other foodstuff merchandising.
In the early 1950s, Dato' Teo started operations
in Singapore. As business flourished on
both sides of the Causeway, Dato' Teo ventured
into other businesses. |

Today, the See Hoy Chan Sdn. Berhad Group
continues to conduct businesses both in
Malaysia and Singapore as a diversified
conglomerate. In his lifetime, Dato' Teo,
the philanthropist, contributed significantly
to various charities, schools and hospitals.
